Sankar Sivasankaran Nair
Sankar comes from Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala, India). He is a certified Ayurvedic therapist and teacher of the South Indian martial art kalarippayattu, which includes the Kalari Chikitsa healing system. His first teachers – both in Ayurveda and Kalarippayattu – were his grandfather and father.
Sankar studied Ayurvedic treatments and massages in Thiruvananthapuram in 1999-2008, i.a. at the Institute of Ayurvedic Studies (he completed a professional Ayurveda Panchakarma course) and in Maruthi Marma Chikilsa Kalari Sangham & Ayurveda, as well as in private Ayurvedic clinics (P. S. Sharma, B. S. Jacob from Somatheeram Resort). He worked as a therapist at Sivam Ayurvedic Specialty Hospital.
He lives in Wrocław since 2008. He teaches kalarippayattu and runs his Ayurvedic practice.
He has excellent knowledge of techniques of Ayurvedic therapy and massage, as well as the knowledge of oils and herbs used in them. They are selected individually for each patient on the basis of an interview or consultation that precedes a therapy or massage. Moreover, personalized recommendations regarding lifestyle, diet and therapy are adapted to the current local climatic conditions.
Sankar cooperates with the Integrative Medical Center in Żerniki Wrocławskie, as well as the School of Therapists OdNowa in Gdańsk, where he currently teaches at the professional course in Ayurvedic therapies.
