Sankar comes from Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala, India).
He is a certified ayurvedic therapist and a teacher of South Indian martial art, Kalarippayattu, which includes also a healing system called Kalari Chikitsa.
His family has cultivated practice in these domains for many generations.
He studied ayurvedic treatment and massage in Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum)
in the years 1999-2008 among others at the Instiute of Ayurvedic Studies (where he accomplished a professional course of Ayurveda Panchakarma); at Maruthi Marma Chikilsa Kalari Sangham and Ayurveda, as well as at private ayurvedic hospitals
(dr P. S. Sharma and B. S. Jacob from Somatheeram Resort). He also worked as a therapist at Sivam Ayurvedic Specialty Hospital.
He has been studying the Southern style of kalarippayattu in Thiruvananthapuram since 1990. Since 2008 he has lived in Wroclaw, Poland. In 2010 he started Studio Kalari run at the Grotowski Institute. He teaches kalarippayattu (regular trainings in Wroclaw and workshops in Poland and abroad, i.e. Finland, France, Germany, Russia, Italy). Every winter he runs intensive trainings at his centre, Alamkottu Kalari Sangam, in Trivandrum, Kerala.
Within his Ayurvedic practice, he gives consultations, massages and therapies, as well as runs workshops
of massage. He pays special attention to adjusting original Ayurvedic therapies to Polish climate so that they are safe and efficient for his patients. Thanks to his many-year practice in Kalarippayattu, he gained much experience
in therapies of sport injuries. He often consults also dancers and actors of physical theatre.
